James Jones

Pitcher, Outfielder

If there’s one thing James knows, it’s how to overcome adversity. A native New Yorker, James was drafted as an outfielder by the Seattle Mariners and reached the big leagues in 2014. One year later, he was traded to the Texas Rangers and converted into a pitcher. He missed the 2017 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery, but bounced back and returned to the field. In 2019, he received the True Ranger Award for being the minor leaguer who best represented the “core value of the organization both on and off the field.”
